At Nature’s Sunshine, sustainability isn’t a trend—it’s a daily practice rooted in over 50 years of honoring the Earth’s natural gifts. From solar-powered facilities to ethical ingredient sourcing, the brand is redefining what it means to be a wellness company with purpose.
Everyday Sustainability in Action
Sustainability touches every part of the business—from product development to packaging and manufacturing. In 2022, the company shifted its U.S. manufacturing facility to 100% renewable solar energy. Its European distribution center runs on wind power. These efforts have already cut greenhouse gas emissions by 47%, with a goal of hitting 50% by 2025.
Recycling also plays a major role: the U.S. distribution centers earned TRUE Zero Waste Gold certification, diverting over 85% of waste from landfills.
Ethical Ingredient Sourcing
Nature’s Sunshine has built long-standing partnerships with farmers, wildcrafters, and harvesters across the globe. One standout example is the yerba mate used in the brand’s Brain Edge supplement, sourced from indigenous farmers in the Brazilian rainforest. These relationships help preserve ecosystems and support local communities.
When rare ingredients like False Unicorn Root face overharvesting, the company finds more sustainable alternatives—like yarrow and chaste tree berry—to protect plant populations for the future.
Sustainability in Every Product
Nature’s Sunshine products are made with environmental impact in mind. A few examples:
- Power Greens use upcycled fruit fiber—reducing food waste while boosting nutrition.
- Power Beets are grown in the Tibetan Plateau, supporting high-altitude farming communities.
- Brain Edge features ethically sourced yerba mate.
- Chlorophyll Sticks are produced in a solar-powered facility and packaged in recyclable cardboard.
What’s Next?
With 47% of its greenhouse gas reduction goal already achieved, the brand is on track to exceed its 50% target by 2025. Beyond that, Nature’s Sunshine is already planning for the next phase—setting new sustainability benchmarks for 2030.
A Future Built on Nature
Nature’s Sunshine believes wellness and environmental care go hand-in-hand. Through innovation, integrity, and a deep respect for the Earth, the brand continues to offer clean, sustainable supplements for those who want to feel good—while doing good.
Because when we take care of the Earth, it takes care of us.
